Michał Klauza

Michał Klauza is Artistic Director of the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw. Previously, he was Music Director of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic from 2013 to 2015 and Second Conductor of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra from 2009 to 2015. He conducted the Welsh National Opera in Cardiff, where he was Assistant Musical Director (2004-2008).

He has worked with numerous orchestras in Poland and abroad, performing in France, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, Italy, Brazil, Armenia, South Korea and the Arab States of the Persian Gulf. He has collaborated with the Baltic Opera, Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, the G rand T heatre in Poznań, the Grand Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. His artistic output includes a number of radio and television recordings (including the 2020 Fryderyk Award for his interpretation of K. Szymanowski’s Hagith). Michał Klauza has also recorded numerous film soundtracks, including the awardwinning „IO” by Jerzy Skolimowski.

Since 2020 he has been teaching conducting at the Department of
Symphony and Opera Conducting at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music
in Warsaw.
