CD album – “Brahms Violin Sonatas”

Jarosław Nadrzycki is widely considered as one of the most exciting violinist of his generation in the world today. At the age of 12, he made his Moscow debut with the Moscow Conservatoire Orchestra in the Tchaikovsky Conservatory Great Hall. Since then he has become one of the most promising violin virtuosos of today that has included the major new works of 20th and the 21st century in his repertoire.

Born in Żagań, Jarosław Nadrzycki began his musical education in his home town. He further pursued his musical studies in Poznań at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music under Professor Jadwiga Kaliszewska. He is also a graduate of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where he studied under Prof. Igor Ozim, and the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he worked with Prof. Igor Petrushevski.

Jarosław Nadrzycki is a winner of many prestigious international violin competitions, such as the Aram Khachaturian International Violin Competition in Yerevan, the G. Enescu International Competition in Bucharest, the Max Rostal Competition in Berlin, the Jascha Heifetz Competition in Vilnius, the Valsesia Musica Competition in Varallo (Italy) and the Haverhill Sinfonia Soloist Competition in the UK. He has also won top prizes at the Tibor Varga International Competition in Martigny (Switzerland), the Benjamin Britten Competition in London, and the Henryk Wieniawski Competition in Poznań.

For many years Jarosław Nadrzycki has been involved in intense concert activity. His foreign tours have taken him to all European countries, to both Americas and also to Asia. A milestone in his career was the performance in 2010 of Krzysztof Penderecki’s Violin Concerto No. 2 “Metamorphosen” with the Simon Bolivar Orchestra of Venezuela led by the composer. In 2013, during the 17th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, Jarosław Nadrzycki performed the 2^nd Violin Concerto by Penderecki thrice together with MDR Sinfonieorchester conducted by Kristjan Järvi. In the years 2013-2018 he was 1^st violinist of the renowned Meccore String Quartet. In 2018, on the occasion of the 85th birthday of his mentor Krzysztof Penderecki, the Penderecki Piano Trio was established, of which Jarosław is proud to be a founding member.

Jarosław Nadrzycki has appeared with many renowned orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Hamburg Philharmonic, Vilnius State Philharmonic, “Transylvania” State Philharmonic and George Enescu Philharmonic orchestras; the Simón Bolivar, The State of Mexico, Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, Slovac Radio, Polish National Radio and Zurich symphony orchestras; the Youth State Orchestra of Armenia, Sinfonia Iuventus and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of the Polish Radio. He has had the honour of performing together with such eminent conductors and musical personalities as Horia Andreescu, Enrique Batiz, Massimiliano Caldi, Agnieszka Duczmal, Paul Goodwin, Giancarlo Guerrero, Kristjan Järvi, Krzysztof Penderecki, Sergey Smbatyan and Maxim Vengerov. He also took part in prestigious music festivals, among them the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw, the Aram Khachaturian Festival in Armenia, the Northern Lights Music Festival in the USA, as well as in chamber music festivals in Germany and Austria, including the Bregenzer Festspiele, Allegro Vivo, Kissinger Sommer and Heidelberg Frühling. He has repeatedly performed in such prestigious venues as the London’s Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall and St. John’s Smith Square, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, the Romanian Atheneum in Bucharest, the Aram Khachaturian Philharmonic Hall in Yerevan, Bozar in Brussels, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory Great Hall in Moscow, the Pollack Hall in Montreal and the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall.

The artist has made many radio and TV recordings for such broadcasters as the Bayerischer Rundfunk, BBC Radio 3, ZDF, TV ORF Austria and TV Montenegro. His performances of violin concertos by Penderecki, Khachaturian, Shostakovich and Sibelius have been recorded and  aired by Mezzo TV, TVR Romania, TV Armenia, TVP Kultura and the Polish Radio Programme Two. In 2011, thanks to the support and involvement of the Henryk Wieniawski Society in Poznań, a recording of the music of Enescu, Prokofiev, Tartini and Wieniawski performed by the artist together with the pianist Tadashi Imai was released by the DUX label, earning very positive reviews from, among others, the British magazine The Strad. Together with the Meccore String Quartet, Jarosław released two albums that have won a number of phonographic awards, including the Supersonic Award from the Pizzicato magazine, and a nomination for the Fryderyk award.

A new album on which Jarosław Nadrzycki plays Brahms’s works for violin and piano with Joanna Zathey is scheduled for release in September 2018 by the Orphée Classics label.

In 2016, Jarosław Nadrzycki became an assistant professor in the string department of the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań.
