CD album “Max Reger – 4 Sonatas for violin solo”
Małgorzata Staszewska was born in Cracow, Poland in 1976. She began to play the violin at the age of six. After graduating with honors from the Cracow Academy of Music in 1999, she joined professional chamber orchestra, Capella Cracoviensis. Staszewska continued solo education in Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany, and in University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Among her teachers are: Antoni Cofalik, Magdalena Rezler, Ewa Jargoń, Peter Schaffer and Danwen Jiang. She participated in master classes of Eudice Shapiro, Kronos Quartet and Prague Quartet. Staszewska was distinguished to perform on The Cracow Chamber Brahms Festival in 1996. She served as a concertmaster for school Symphony Orchestras in Cracow and Illinois. Awarded with the scholarship from The Kościuszko Foundation, she participated in Manchester Music Festival in Vermont. Currently Staszewska is pursuing DMA degree in performance in University of Georgia, in class of Professor Levon Ambartsumian. As a member of Arco, UGA Chamber Orchestra, she performed in Carnegie Hall in New York in 2004. Recently Staszewska won the School of Music Concerto Competition and gave her debut with UGA Symphony.
